Over Spring Break my best friend from Japan visited for a week. We had a blast. We went skiing in 56 degree weather (that's the way to do it!), plunged down a giant toilet bowl (at least that's what I call it...) at Kalahari Waterpark, and did a little painting at a local pottery studio.

So I thought I'd share our unfinished works.





Aren't they lovely? Just the thing to pick up your mood on a gloomy day. Painting Pottery! Useful AND fun! LOVELY!

Creation: An Oldie

It was a nice fall day. Blue sky. Crisp air. All this plus a good sense of adventure led to that days' driving game. The one with the quarter. You know what I'm talking about? Where you flip a coin at every intersection to determine which way you turn. (Believe me, pennies are better than quarters. And if you're going to play this game, take a stash of them, because half WILL become lost in the crevices of your car).

We drove forever until we hit a little town. I'm not even sure where we were. We parked, got out, and walked around. There was a secluded strip of shops, mostly abandoned, but nonetheless gorgeous in their own run-down way.
